Retrocognition
Retrocognition refers to knowledge of the past which could not be known by normal means
In cases of retrocognition, the percipient says they experience past events and environments as if transported back in time. This phenomena is also known as a Time Warp. This type of experience is very rare. People who experience retrocognition are seemingly transported back in time, where the world changes around them. Those who experience this phenomena say that the world becomes unnatural, and still. The light changes, as if through a filter. The effects are usually temporary lasting only a few seconds to a few minutes, where upon the percipient returns to his or her normal frame of time.
Retrocognition is also used as the term for seeing or sensing the past using a psychic ability. It has been claimed to be accomplished deliberately by psychics who seek access to past events.
Psychologist Gardner Murphy came up with the theory that most ghosts are cases of retrocognition.
